So, "Monkey Boy" and Ava woke us up early with a grand announcement: "A
leprechaun left his gold!" The night before, Ava set a "trap" for a leprechaun, hoping to catch one and take all of his gold. She made a house, with a door, and a trap with a lid. Then she put a cookie in it to lure the leprechaun inside. Sadly, there was no leprechaun in the morning, but we figure, he must have been so startled when he took a bite of the cookie, that he ran and dropped all of his gold! Yes, of course, that is what must have happened.

Well, Ava was VERY excited to have the gold, plus a few other goodies that were left behind for each of the kids.

Well, after all the excitement died down, we decided to go to the library. After all, if we are going to catch a leprechaun next year, we better learn more about them. Ava, Brycen and I had a wonderful time together, gathering books and reading all about little green men with gold and rainbows.

After we returned home, Ava and I tried a new recipe. Let me just say, these cupcakes are beautiful, and they taste great, BUT - they are
SO not worth the work involved! I don't think we will make this a tradition. (Maybe by next year I'll want to try again!?!)

We finished the night with, you guessed it, Corned Beef & Cabbage for dinner. To my surprise, Ava LOVED it. I love this age - so much imagination and fun! Well, we hope you had a fun holiday too.
