Our Maiden Voyage - Camping with a 1 yr old.

A couple weeks ago, Matt and I decided to take our first camping trip with Riley!  We went down to a camp ground called Laird Park.  It has some really nice secluded-ish camp sites, a stream and play area, and a loop to hike around.  We got going a little late, but it being our first time with her, we gave ourselves some slack.  When we first arrived, we had lunch and got going on a little hike.  Riley did really well in her kid-carrier for the first time!

When we got back, we set up camp and got things ready for dinner.  Laird Park is somewhat close to Moscow so Kent and Martha and Lacey and her boys joined us for the evening for tinfoil dinners and s'mores!  The park also has some horseshoe pits so after dinner we played a round of horseshoes.  I actually got a couple ringers!
I did my best to not constantly follow Riley around with wipes and I was successful most of the time. After a little fussin' she even had some muddy tears.
We had a great time and can't wait to go again!

Ava's First day of 1st Grade!

Is she really old enough...
She is SO excited to be back and we are very proud of her.  She is already talking about going to the library and learning to read even better than before - and especially being able to eat lunch at school.  Yep, it's going to be a full day from now on!  Congratulations Ava - we love you!

2012 Meyers Family Reunion Portraits

Here they are!  These are my favorites for everyone!  Each family has two poses saved to a disc and I will be mailing them out ASAP!  I have included everyone's pictures on each disc so we can all enjoy them.  I hope you are all happy with how they turned out.  I know I am!  We sure have a beautiful family!

The Goings On...

I know it's been awhile... so here are some pics to catch you all up with the goings on here.  Unfortunately there is no baby yet, but we have been having as much fun as we can until baby decides to come.

The weather has been a little cooler lately, which is a huge blessing for ME!  On Friday, Drew secretly set-up the pads and sleeping bags and surprised the kids with a backyard camp-out.  They LOVE sleeping under the stars so this was a big treat for all of them.  I thankfully slept inside, (although I did miss all the fun with them!)
On Wednesday, I took the kids swimming at the local pool.  There were a ton of friends there and we played all afternoon.  When we finally made it home, it was time for showers and naps.  Ava was first, and then when I went to find Brycen for his, this is how I found him!  He had so much fun, but barely had time to "get ready" for his shower before curling up and falling fast asleep!
Thursday I took  the kids to Zoo Boise with some great friends from our ward.  First we visited the butterfly garden.  This was really a treat.  I have never seen so many different kinds of butterflies in one place.  Some of them were huge!  They would flutter all over and land on you and the beautiful garden around us.  One even landed on my face!

Brycen wasn't so sure about the butterflies!

My little monkey girl!

After the Zoo we stopped in the park for a picnic lunch.  The other moms had to head home, but Ava was begging to go see the Idaho History Museum.  So off we went.  When we got there, they gave us a laminated poster for a scavenger hunt.  Ava loved this and was surpisingly good at finding all the pictures.

Needless to say, after walking the Zoo and the Museum from 10:00 - 3:00, we were tired!  I was really hoping it would start some contractions or some kind of action, but nothing yet!

Don' worry - we'll keep you posted!
Baby boy is due tomorrow (Saturday) but I'm guessing he won't come then either.  My kids usually come past their due date.  We are so excited for this new addition to our family!

Homemade Splash Pad

It's been wicked hot here in CdA lately so we decided to be a little inventive in ways to cool off!  Couldn't be simpler really...a tarp and a sprinkler.  Riley loved it!

Riley's 1 yr Photos

Here are Riley's 1 yr photos. Thankfully, our photographer took some family portraits as well and I love how they turned out!

Softball 2012

This summer, I played city-league co-ed softball with some friends from our ward.  Sadly, last night was our last game but as always it was a ton of fun!  We ended the season with winning 5 games and losing 5, so in my book that's a success!  I can't wait to play again next year!
Not the greatest form but I get on base every once and a while!
The Bombers!  What a great team!

A few more Reunion picts!

I couldn't resist a few more photos.  Thanks all for unforgettable memories and such good times-- and a VERY special thanks to all those who hosted and worked to make this possible.  There's just nothing like being together with our family!
