Our Anniversary Weekend!...has it been 5 years already??

Well, we figured with a baby on the way and it being the big 5th year anniversary, we would do something fancy. Around here, the fanciest thing to do is stay at the lavish Davenport Hotel in downtown Spokane, WA. And, boy, we weren't disappointed!
Never have we experienced such a hotel! Valet parking, a door man with a fancy uniform, and a great room with a really big shower! Oh, how small-town, hick-ish we sound but we felt very much like fish-out-of-water.

After dinner and a movie, we ordered up some yummy late night treats! Matt had 3 big cookies and milk and I had apple crisp a la mode!
To finish the weekend off, we went to a Spokane Chiefs hockey game! Matt even caught a free t-shirt from the sling shot! It's great to have a tall man with long arms!

Baby Bump 23 weeks

For some reason I think it doesn't look that much bigger than the last time I posted...oh well!!

Snow Day

Portland is funny. They reported that we should expect a lot of snow and that it would stay for a few days. They were a little right. It did snow but only and inch or two and it was gone by this afternoon. That always seems to be how it is. So around here any little skiff means no school! Yay! We all bundled up and headed outside this morning and had a blast playing in the snow! We built a big snowman and rolled lots of snowballs and threw a few, made snow angels and trekked across the field. We also had a few tastes of the snow - Dallas especially enjoyed eating it - and even enjoyed the sunshine through it all! It was great! SO here are some photos of our fun! =)
I know there are a lot but we don't get snow very often so too bad. ;)Jett's first order of business...a snow angel of course!

Our snowman! Jett called him Snowy and Tucker called him Mr. Snowhead.

Tucker wanted to hold his hand for the picture.

My goober.

He loved eating the snow - I made sure he got the clean parts. =)

Cheese!

I don't even know why he made this face. Silly booga-lips.

Jett made his own small snowman and later karate chopped it apart. It was awesome.

Handsome Tuck-man

He just makes me laugh.

Remodel Show - Downtown Boise!

This last weekend, Drew and Ben, (a guy Drew does a lot of work with) set up a booth at the Boise Remodel Show down at the Boise Center on the Grove. They had banners and brochures, business cards and matching t-shirts! Not only did they look GREAT, they had a good time and were able to get over 30 people to give them their contact info! That's a lot of contacts for 1 day! Yay boys!

The Things Kids Say...

Ava and I were in the car the other day and she asked me about coffee... so then proceeded a small portion of the Word of Wisdom talk with my 4 year old.

Ava: "So we should stay away from coffee 'cause it's bad for you... and even flies...'cause they have germs. (long pause, thinking intently.) But not butterflies. They're PRETTY!"

So cute to watch a child's mind work through an idea!

Drumroll Please...

IT'S A GIRL!
This was the best 3D photo of her. The tech had a hard time because her arms were so close to her face. She was kind of curled up in a little ball the whole time and I think in the video you can see that her feet are crossed.

Happy Birthday Jett!

Happy Birthday to Jett!
SEVEN YEARS OLD!

We all had a great time celebrating Jett's birthday. At school everyone sang happy birthday and he got to pick a treat. Then in class he got birthday cards and I brought cupcakes for everyone. He loved it of course. Then Daddy picked him up from school and took him out to Burgerville for lunch and then to the store to pick out a toy. He got a cool shotgun! That evening Jett asked for chili for his birthday dinner - nice and easy for me ;) and then we took off to Grandma's house for dessert with the family!
It was so nice for everyone to come and celebrate Jett! He got totally spoiled and loves all of his cool presents. He has seriously watched his movies over and over and over already and he wants to play Battleship everyday. They do lots of shooting with the shotgun and all the dart guns and he looks so handsome in his new clothes. The puzzle has been fun to put together, the books are fun to do and he's in love with all the spy gear - especially the cool watch! Thank you everyone for loving our boy so much! It was a great birthday and he loves being a seven year old! Now just one more year til the big eight!!

Hubbie's Hobbies - Airsoft Edition

So Jayson is not in want when it comes to hobbies. I'm glad he finds fun things to do that he can enjoy. His all time love is riding dirtbikes, but skiing, cycling, air-chair, ping pong, snow-skiing, water-skiing, etc. keep his interest and he loves it all. We sometimes joke by trying to guess what the next "toy" will be. Recently however, his attention has gone to guns. He loves the real kind and wants to get a Taurus 800-series (?) soon to add to his 22-rifle and his 357 mag. I don't mind- I'm all for protection and I rather enjoy going out shooting. However, he has also discovered the joys of airsoft! This is a wave that has hit every Rowley man and has spread to a couple others as well. At first it was the cheap pistols from Fred Meyer that you have to rack manually after every shot. They were fun for a while, but then dreams of automatic pistols came alive and they all got awesome, real-life-like pistols that came with extra magazines and could shoot a lot more rounds per game with more firepower and simulated the real thing. These are awesome and so much fun...but...they don't work very well in the cold winter weather. And wouldn't an airsoft rifle be so cool?!! Thus we have entered the era of airsoft. All the guys now own their own airsoft rifles that have full and semi-automatic shooting capablilities, can hold hundreds of rounds in a mag and have even MORE POWER. Yeah it hurts more too and the guys often come home with bb-sized welts or scabs, but they're real men and they LOVE it! Now they don their camouflage and head out to the back yard and enjoy games like terrorist vs. SWAT, and one-on-one with a ghost shooter, and other awesome games that help them develop their army man skillz. So even though he's way into this new hobby, I'm actually okay with it. He gets to spend quality time with his bros and his dad, he has fun, gets exercise running around, and he's actually really good at it. He's also been good about balancing family time with his airsoft so hey - bring it on and have fun!

Baby Bump 2011!

Well the nurses were right! It seems like it just happened over night!...or at least in the last week or so. To me it really just feels like a lot of fat and a little bit of baby but I'm tired of sucking it in so there it is!
A little sassiness...

and a little bit more...
I know its a lot of pictures of the same thing but oh well...!

Brycen gets a BONK!

So...
On Wednesday, Drew called me at work, just before I was ready to come home and said something like this: "This is an emergency! I need you to come home right now because we might need to take Brycen to the emergency room and I need you to hold him!" To which I said, "What!?!" So he proceeded to tell me that Brycen was playing on the couch and fell off, head first into the corner of the coffee table. He split the bridge of his nose and above his eye. So I raced home, (following all traffic laws of course... well, mostly!) and found Brycen on Drew's lap with an icepack on his head. Drew said he was so brave, he hardly cried at all but he was a little pale and just wanted to cuddle with his mama. We decided that he didn't need stitches, but we did use a few butterfly band aids just in case.

The next day he was pretty swollen across his nose and he had a black eye. But it's kinda cute because he is so little and it doesn't slow him down a bit! He is such a trooper!
All smiles for the camera!
The butterfly band aids didn't last too long so I resorted to regular band aids. However all I had was Dora and Disney Princess, so we went with Dora. (I later purchased some Toy Story band aids for him.)
Well, our first big BONK is out of the way - and I'm sure there will be many more to come! :)

Happy New Year!

Hey all!
Just wanted to report that Christmas was Awesome!! We had such a fun time at Mom and Dad's on Thursday eating well, hanging out, playing games and having fun! Then Christmas Eve was also great! All the Rowley's gathered together for a Shepherd's dinner. We sat on the floor in candlelight and ate meats, cheeses, dried fruits, vegetables, breads, pita and hummus and then shared our thoughts of the Savior. Christmas morning the kids had a blast tearing it up and loving their loot. Then we sent them all downstairs to play while the adults got their turn. Lots of FUN!! On Christmas Eve morning, our school PHA had a breakfast for all the teachers and their families. Jett's little class learned a dance for the school Christmas talent show and they performed again at the breakfast. He's so awesome!! (**Video would not upload...maybe another time...)

New Years was the best one that we've had in a while (we usually don't last til midnight)! The Rowley's and Mom and Dad and us gathered at Shane and Clarissa's house and enjoyed a night full of ping pong and pictionary! It was so much fun hanging out, playing games and eating yummy snacks! Jett even stayed up til 1am! So much fun.

Hope all of you had a great Christmas and an awesome New Years! We love you all!!! =)

Christmas and Sugar Cookies with the Kids

Couldn't resist some super-cute Christmas picts!

A lot of the cookies were more frosting than cookie when we were done, but the kids had so much fun! I love seeing my boys play with their cousins--so happy.
