Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year! Every year we trick-or-treat at a shopping center to all the stores with the cousins and the kids had a great time and it was fun to see all the different costumes around. Afterwards, we all went to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes and then in the evening our ward had a trunk-or-treat and it was all a lot of fun!

Pumpkin Patch!

Last Saturday our family and Shane and Clarissa's family and Karen took the kids to the Lakeview Farms pumpkin patch. It was pouring rain all morning so we waited till the afternoon and then the clouds parted and the sun shined so we took off to get some pumpkins! The boys loved to see the animals. Tucker was sure that the little horse was his and that he should ride it! Because of the rain, we beat a big crowd so there weren't any lines to wait in so the boys got their faces painted. They haven't really done this before and afterwards, Tucker didn't like it and Jett wasn't too thrilled...Oh, well.Jett got a skeletonTucker got a ghostWe took the boat over to the patch and proceeded to tromp through sticky mud to find a great pumpkin.
It's always so fun to see the kids pick up every pumpkin and wandering around to find the "right" one. A lot of the pumpkins were yucky, but we finally found some good ones. The boys like to get pumpkins that they can carry themselves which turn out to be little ones (nice because it's cheaper!) so they found their perfect pumpkins and proudly toted them onto the train.

"Man, I'm strong!"
Got some pumpkins!
Me and Dallas watching the fun.Waiting for the trainAll aboard! They loved the train ride and once we were done, all they wanted was to get their pumpkins cleaned off. We ran home to change their muddy pants and shoes and then headed up to Grandma's house and cleaned the pumpkins and they showed them off and played with them for a while!
Ah, I do love a good pumpkin adventure!
Now on to decorating them!

6 months have gone by already??

It's crazy to me that my baby is already 6 months old!! He went to the doctor today for his checkup today and he weighs 18 lb. 8 oz. and is 28" long. He loves to scoot around and is starting to crawl! He can get up to a sitting position from his tummy, he babbles and loves to be in the center of what's going on. He loves to watch Jett and Tucker play and sometimes gets in on the action. He puts everything in his mouth and especially loves to find paper and books to munch on. He's a cutie and we sure are having fun!
Look who's crawling!!
He's a bit wobbly and only does it when his shirt is off or his legs are bare. It's pretty cute!
Sorry it's a dark video! It's better on the camera, but not on the computer...We'll get a better one sometime.

Dallas was on my lap while looking at these pics and he kept laughing at this one of him! =)

He's always got his tongue hanging out

Pumpkin Party!

These are a few pictures of Mylie and Jacob painting pumpkins for halloween. We put some contact paper on them for faces and then just let the kids have at it! Of course Jacob quickly abandoned the paintbrush and went all hands... his mom trying to get him to make a hand print had nothing to do with that....:) They had a ball!

Afterwards they had a bath to clean off the paint and then made sugar cookies. When the cookies were done we asked if they wanted some-- to which they replied "yes!"... and went for the oreos.:) Oh well, it was fun to cut them out and everything.

These last few are of Mylie and Jacob at the park. Whenever they see eachother they always give hugs. Mylie is one of Jacob's FAVORITE people-- so sweet!

My boys together--amazing, I am now a mother of two!? Yipes!

Backpacking Trip...2 weeks ago.

I should have posted this earlier but better late than never! Matt and I went backpacking 2 weeks ago and besides it being wicked cold, it wasn't that bad. I know, right? Me? Backpacking? Thankfully I have a husband that is willing to be the pack mule for all the heavy stuff. It was a beautiful lake and the hike was less than 2 miles so I think it's a trip that we will make again, minus the wind and snow.

Catching up

Hey everyone! So, it's been a while since I've done an update from us, and babies grow SO fast. By the way Mandy, I LOVE Brycen's army crawl-- so cute!! So.. here's a few priceless picts of my crew. Braden is doing really well, starting to look around and focus on faces more, a sweet baby. Jacob is also adjusting well and comes out saying and doing the funniest things sometimes. Love it! Jason is an awesome dad and keeps me sane. Anywho, here's some fun photos!

Soaking up the Summer!

So I thought I'd record a little of the fun we've had this week. It's been so sunny and nice outside, I feel like we have to squeeze all the fun out of this last bit of summer weather! So earlier this week Jayson got home early and decided we needed to get out so he packed us up and we went to the beach on Sauvie's Island! It was just our family and it was so fun! Dallas hung out on the blanket and the boys and Jay and I played in the water. There was a sandcastle and we played catch with a football and had such a great time! After the sun started to go down, we packed it up and went home to change and then went to Sonic (yum!) and went to a park to eat and then play. By the time we were playing it was dark and we had the park to ourselves. I love spontaneous nights that turn out so fun!! The kids loved it and we all had so much fun!

The next evening Jayson got home early again and our family and Shane and Clarissa's family went out on their boat for some skiing, wakeboarding, sky-skiing and swimming. Tons of fun and I actually got up and stayed up on my little ski! Clarissa did great on the wakeboard and the guys did some great jumps on the sky ski. Unfortunately my camera ran out of batteries during the trip, so I only have a few photos. Afterwards, we hit Burgerville for dinner and it was another super fun family night!

And Friday night was another adventure. Mom and Dad invited us to go on a bike ride downtown. We got the tandems and the tagalong and trailer for the kids and had a great bike ride! The trailer and the tagalong wouldn't hook on the frame of dad's tandem so Jayson pulled them both. We had about a 15 ft. train! We got lots of looks from people but it was fun and thankfully Jayson is strong - he did a great job pulling our family along the way! We had subway for dinner and enjoyed the waterfront and the beautiful weather. =)

Father and Sons Outing

Well, this is a "No Picture" blog in that it rained most of the time but just wanted to let you all know Dad went on his first Father and Sons out EVER. Amazing huh? I took Jett and Tucker to our ward outing at the Newsom Farm. What a place. It's a horse arena and stable on 140 acres about 10 miles from home. Jett and Tucker loved it. All the horses and getting to touch and feed them was pretty cool. Tucker wasn't real thrilled with that but both boys had a great time. We stayed over night on a beautiful lawn next to the barn, had hotdogs and hamburgers for dinner - no rain, and scones and eggs for breakfast - no rain. Jett loved playing with a stick in the fire keeping everyone's anxious attention and Tucker just sat in my lap soaking it all up.

The rest of the time it was pretty wet...but we had a good time anyway playing games.

We had a service project to clear a trail in their 40 acre forest for scout camps but got chased away by a swarm of angry hornets. I was spared but 4 or 5 others got some pretty bad stings. Luckily, I left the boys to play in the barn toy room. The boys were totally immersed.

Love you all...

We are thrilled to see all of your blogs keeping us up with your lives and all the wonderful blessings you enjoy.

Go Mariners!

Matt and I decided that we wanted to take a quick trip to Seattle and see a Mariner's game before the summer came to a close. We ate some yummy seafood at The Crab Pot and went to the game!
Most of the game we were behind 3-1 but in the bottom of the 9th inning we scored 2 home runs! That tied us up until the 14th inning! Finally at the bottom of the 14th inning we had two men on base and Ichiro hit a solid base hit that brought in the winning run! It was a GREAT game to be at and we can't wait to go again next season!

Baby Braden

Well, I'm having trouble getting the photo bucket to work, so here's for another try at posting Braden's birth. (drum roll please...) Woo hoo! Braden Joseph MacKay was born September 2, 2009 at 9:34 pm. He was 8lbs. 1oz and 21 1/2 inches long. Thus far he is a sweet baby, loves to sleep, and tolerates his big brother's kisses fairly well. Jacob LOVES his little brother and is very cute with him. Thanks to Jason, Mom, and all the MacKay clan here, I am bouncing back and recovering well. Here's a few photos. Love to all of you!!
