Anniversary Weekend Fun

Hello everyone...
I surprised Sue this weekend with a fun little trip up to Orcas Island to see her new SailBoat.

Pretty cool...huh?

Anyway, we had a very relaxing couple of nights at the Deer Harbor Resort staying in an old Apple knocker's cabin and going to dinner at the Deer Harbor Inn...very nice...
This is a pretty cool place to just step off the edge of the world. Time has a way of forgetting places like this. We had a great time just exploring, shopping, and relaxing.

The Falconer!

Jason is officially a falconer! He trapped this beautiful female kestral last week and has been diligently working with her. Needless to say he's pretty excited. She has a pretty fiesty agressive personality so he decided to name her Xena--as in the "warrior princess" for any you 80s fans.:) So far she happily sits on his fist to eat and may even begin living indoors due to weather changes--the cold makes her weight drop a little too quickly. Anywho, enjoy the photos!

Mister Cool...

For some reason Jakey has recently decided that he likes these shades-- he actually asks us to put them on him and likes to keep them on.

He also loves to dance. He'll often go to the keyboard and push the rhythm buttons so that he can jam out! We love it. This isn't the best video of his dance skills, but we'll keep trying to sneak up on him!

We had fun at our ward's trunk-r-treat! Jacob didn't really get the whole Halloween thing, but he definitely enjoyed the sucker I let him eat! Love to all of you--your pictures are SOOOOO CUTE!

Just Clowning Around!

Happy Halloween!
We actually went to two trunk or treats - so Ava dressed-up twice - and loved it! Last night on the 31st, we went to our ward trunk or treat and ate hot dogs and got LOTS of candy. Then we headed over the Grandma and Paka's house were we ate cupcakes and visited a few more neighbors. SHe was so full of candy that we didn't get to bed until almost 11:00pm! But hey, is Halloween! She had a blast!

What a big GIRL!

Earlier this month, Ava got a big surprise - PANTIES! We have been talking about it for months and finally decided it was time. So here is the BIG GIRL with one of her favorite pairs!

Happy Halloween! (almost...)

I know it's not officially Halloween yet, but we've been having a blast so far and I had to share! On Thursday the 23rd, we decided to go to the pumpkin patch! It was a gorgeous day and being later in the afternoon, we were almost the only ones there! Not much was going on, but we still had a great time walking around and hunting for pumpkins.

Then on Friday night, we ate pizza, carved out the pumpkins - Tucker loved getting all messy, but with Jett, it took a little coaxing, but he eventually got into it! - and got ready to go to our ward Trunk or Treat Harvest Party! I do believe we have the cutest cowboys ever!

The Harvest Party was a lot of fun with lots of things for the kids to do. And of course the kids loved Trunk or Treating! Nana and Papa came to see the action and the kids got lots of candy and we all had a great time!

Then on Tuesday the 28th, we joined Brenna and the Rowley's at their ward Trunk or Treat. Once again the boys had a blast and loved hanging out with their little cousin and everyone, and of course getting more candy!


We have one more Halloween event coming up. Of course we have to do something on the 31st - actual Halloween! So every year we go trick or treating with the Counts at a shopping area close by. We walk around to all the stores and they hand out candy to the kids on Halloween in the afternoon. And because it's supposed to be rainy that day, I think we'll be done after that!
So there's our October happenings!

Mom and Dad go Biking on the Coast

I know this is a little late after the fact but thought you might like to see some of the pic's anyway. Sue and I went with Dave and Cindy Fusselman over to Fort Stevens State Park in August to do some tandem bike riding. The day was perfect and we had a great time...along with a few good pictures.
It's not often that I manage to get Sue on the back of the bike with me, but when I do, it's a blast.

Deer Hunting 2008...Deer:1, Matt:0

Yesterday was Matt's first trip out for the Deer Hunt of 2008. He went with another deputy and one of his Sergeants. They went about 20+ miles up into the mountains north of the Kellogg area. As is often the case, they saw a lot of fresh sign (poop) of deer/elk, but had no luck. They had to cut it short around noon because Matt had to get back to the local area for a court case. Matt did learn one thing: he makes alot of noise when he walks through the woods. Here's a pic of him and the other deputy.
