Little Kickers Soccer

This year we enrolled Riley in Little Kickers Soccer.  Watching a three year old try to play is almost laughable but at least she was outside and having fun.
Ready for her first game!  Every time we would go she would say how excited she was.
But little did we know that every game she would kind of kick around during practice and then totally freeze up and refuse to play when the actual game started.
Then when all the kids would leave she would be happy to run and play with mommy and daddy again.
Finally, at the last game she got a hold of the ball and kicked it all the way to the goal! That 10 seconds made it all worth it.
Future soccer player!

E-Speaks and Babbling Brook

A couple of days ago the twins wanted to play with play-doh but someone had managed to walk away without eating their lunch. Jason  asked them whose sandwich it was and they both denied/blamed eachother.  So, he simply told them that if they wanted to do play-doh, they had to eat the sandwich.  Well, a few minutes later the conversation went something like this:

E&B:  We're done!
Jason: You ate the sandwich?
Ethan:  No, we hid it.
Jason:  Where did you hide it?
Brook:  It's under the towel!
Jason:  You have to eat it.
J&E:  Okay!

After a few minutes they came back chewing with peanut butter on their faces. Haha!  Don't you love it when kids tell on themselves!

Macayos-- a MacKay Family Tradition

Sometimes when we just need some fun family time, it's to Macayos we go.  The kids love it and with the large booths and chips and salsa, it's good times.

We have such a great daddy. I love when they're silly together.  Suzy was going after that ice with fish lips! :)

MacKay-grams

We traded the big ugly pool table for some bunk beds!  Woohoo!    All too soon the twins will outgrow their toddler beds.

Blehhhh!  Love this silly baby.

Sisters walking together!  She's getting better every day!

Love these piggies!   Suzy loves clam chowder.

Kickball Champs!!  Woohoo!  They had a super fun kids vs parents game and potluck to celebrate.

She is obsessed with these shoes lately.  She brings them to me every day to put on.  Then takes them off again to play with the velcro.

Trotting off with daddy's shoe. No wonder we can't seem to find a pair lately!  Those giant shoes just make her look so little!   I love it.

Jumpin at Harper's birthday party.

My little sunshine!

Playin with a baby doll.

Pam Starr gave the kids a TON of stickers left by Lilly.  Brooklynn was in heaven!!!  I think they ALL got stuck to something within a week.

This is what happens when Jake gets ahold of my phone.  Haha!

Misty brought us a present!  Ew!!  Came home from a weekend trip to a couple piles of feathers and a dead bird.

I love the way these kids build forts.  We don't just set up a few blankets, we tip the couches!

Motorcycle....crash!

I thought I'd share Jayson's adventure this last weekend.
Jayson has been looking forward to and preparing for a 12 hour enduro-race up in Washington for months now. Last year he did the 24 hour race on a team with 6 guys - it's like a long relay where they take turns every few laps. They did awesome even with horrible muddy wet conditions. This year they decided to do the 12 hour race with two different teams of two guys - Jayson with Josh, and Shane with his friend Jeff. The weather was sunny and warm, the guys were well conditioned and ready to win this race!
On Jayson's turn, during his second lap he got behind a slow poke. With the dry conditions it ended up being very dusty and this guy was kicking up a lot of dust making it hard for Jay to see. As he came up behind to try and pass him, his front wheel caught a rut and Jayson went down fast... and hard! His hands were still on the handle bars and feet on the pegs. He couldn't catch his breath for almost a full minute but thankfully was able to get up. He knew he was hurt but the bike was fine, so he got back to their camp. Then the adrenaline wore off and it started to hurt bad! Once he got home he went to the doctor and found out he broke 4 ribs! 3 in the back by his spine in the left side and one on his side under the armpit area. On top of that he also has pneumonia. So, now he's taking it very easy and keeping up with antibiotics and pain meds and getting lots of rest. He's anxious to get healed already so he can get back to work (and riding!) but probably not for a couple of weeks! Get better soon, Jayson!

The bruise  - probably from his elbow when he went down.

"A Little Party Never Killed Nobody..."

Ava has been taking dance lessons for a year and a half or so and has loved every minute of it.  This month she had 3 performances all in one week and they will be her last for awhile.  Ava's teacher, Miss Maddie, is graduating high school and going to BYU in the fall, so we will need to find a new place to go next fall.
This semester, Ava's dance team had only one routine to learn - but it was full of big moves and very fast.  The song was "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody..." by PINK.  These cute girls lit up the stage with sparkles and some of the best moves out there!  I am so proud of her and how much she has learned with this team!

Go Ava!
