Bray-Bray Talk "Don't touch my superpowers!"

Jason recently had the following conversation with Braden.

Bray: Dad, don't touch my superpowers
Dad: Where are they?  Are they here? (points to his belly)
Bray: No, here. (points to his ribs)
Dad: Here? (tickles his ribs)
Bray: (squeals!) Don't touch my superpowers!
Dad: Okay.  What do your superpowers do?
Bray: They punch (punches the air) and they jump (jumps) and they kick (kicks his feet)!

Riley's 1st Birthday!!!

Over the weekend, Matt and I went to Moscow for a visit.  Kent and Martha's ward were having their Father and Sons camp out so Matt went with Kent and I got to hang out with Martha and Lacey.  Matt said he had a good time shooting, hanging around the campfire and getting a pretty good sunburn!

On Sunday we decided to celebrate Riley's birthday early.  We had presents and cupcakes and even though Riley didn't know exactly what was going on, I'm sure she was having fun!
She was a little reserved when opening her presents...
But LoVeD the cupcake!!
Happy Birthday Riley!!!  We love you!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

Family Fun at the Cabin!

Ahhhhh.... I love getting out into the mountains.  We were SUPER excited our first cabin trip of the summer to spend it with the Baker clan; Shannon, Kevin, and baby Bella; Shauna and and Colby; and Grandma and Grandpa MacKay.  It's amazing how the simple things like swinging on the porch, playing board games, fishing, and laughing together always make the best memories!

Fun in the Sun!

There's just nothing better than popsickles, a kiddie pool, and friends to share it with!  Pictured here are our friends Elly Richards, Zachary Lea, and Annie McCracken.

Happy Father's Day - too!

Happy Father's Day to my daddy who always took the time to listen and introduced me to many amazing adventures that I will never forget!  I love you dad!

Happy Father's Day

We LOVE our Daddy!  Drew is such a wonderful father.  He has been gone a lot these last few months, but still manages to take the time to wrestle with the kids and give out lots of hugs and kisses.  We are so proud of him and all he has accomplished with the Eagle FF 1 academy!
Drew is also a wonderful husband.  I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.  He not only works hard, but he loves me and tells me I'm beautiful everyday.  I love him more and more every day we are together!  Happy Father's day sweetheart!  I love you!

To Catch You Up... With Drew

For the past 3 months, our lives have been consumed by the FireFighter 1 Volunteer Acadamy.  Drew was accepted into the program and has been attending classes 3 times a week, plus study time at home for several hours every night, plus any spare moment he can find to practice at the station.  Recently he has been able to participate in some of the "fun stuff" since they are almost done with the course.
This was his first "live burn" at the Meridian Station.  They have a burn room specifically build to withstand large fires for training purposes.  They divided the volunteer trainee group onto partners, set the room on fire, and send them in to learn how it spreads, behaviour of smoke, etc, and eventually put it out.

Drew said it was really cool - and by that I mean AWESOME - because is was super HOT in there!  He said it was really amazing to experience how hot they got, but still stayed relatively cool in their gear compared the the 800+ degree heat in the room!  Thank goodness for good equipment!
Eagle Idaho has a parade every year called Eagle Fun Days - and Drew and his friend rode the truck and sprayed the crowd with the fire hose!  Brutal you say... well this crown comes prepared every year with their hoses, buckets and water guns ready for the fire fighters!
Ava & Brycen think Daddy is Super Cool!  ( I think he looks HOT!  I mean cute!)
We sure are proud of our Daddy!  He is doing a fabulous job and he's almost done.  Next week he has two finals and then he will be done with the FF1 Academy and on to regular volunteer work.  I just hope he will get hired sooner than later - but I know it will be 2-4 YEARS before that happens!

Happy Birthday Tucker!!!

On June 12th, Tucker turned 6!! As everyone has their birthdays, he seems to wait and wait until finally June 12th comes around. He was so excited! We decided to celebrate on the 11th, and it started with the traditional date with Dad. Tucker chose to go out to Taco Bell, then they hit Target to pick out a special toy. Tucker knew exactly what he wanted, went right to it and then proceeded to pick up lots of other cool stuff. Dad helped him narrow it down to his awesome Ironman helmet and Ironman arm-gun-thing. He LOVES it and has so much fun being a cool superhero. Later we got together with the whole family and had chocolate cake with Hulk frosting - which looked pretty cool, until my awful frosting melted... but Tucker still liked it - along with ice cream and root beer floats. It's always fun to hang out with everyone. They all spoiled him with awesome presents - baseball and glove (one for Jett, too), a soccer ball, Star Wars figures, treats, a movie, coloring supplies, etc. They had so much fun playing with all the loot! (Thanks everyone!!!)  Unfortunately, camera batteries were in short supply everywhere we looked... so sadly we don't have many pictures of the fun  day. On Tuesday, his actual b-day, Grandma Karen took him birthday shopping and he came home with more awesome stuff to play with. We just chilled and had a fun time playing around. That evening, we watched a movie and had popcorn. I love having this handsome little 6-year-old around! Tucker is sooo sweet and fun to be around. He's helpful and funny and has wicked awesome dance moves. He loves to draw, listen to rock-and-roll, play with his brothers, cousins, or his friend Jacob, ride his bike, and just be goofy! I'm so happy he's a part of our family and we all love him tons! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TUCKER!!!

I'll get pics up soon.... ;)

Happy Birthday Ava!

When did she get so BIG?

Yesterday was Ava's 6th birthday - and it was a wonderful day.  We woke up early before Drew went to work and opened presents.  Then spent the day playing with her new toys, visiting Grandma, going out to lunch, and then finished the evening with a few friends and cupcakes!
Ava received a canvas and easel for her birthday and decided on a self portrait!

Ava quickly outgrew her old bike - so now she will be crusin' on this for the next few years!

I am so proud of my Ava.  She is smart, honest, helpful, kind and always so happy.  It's hard to believe that shi is 6 years old already!  How lucky am I to be her Mom.  Every day she smiles at me and tells me she loves me, and then skips away happily to play or read or help her brother.  I am so grateful for her and the little angel that she is.  Happy Birthday sweetheart!

Remodeling Continued...

Last weekend was the jackhammer weekend...I got a little help from my sweetheart...right...That was a very long day getting all the concrete out, the holes dug inside and out and getting all the old plumbing removed.  Whew!!

Jay, came over Thursday and got all the plumbing pipe in taking only 3 1/2 hours.  He was pretty happy not having to do much digging.  It all went in pretty smooth.  Nice to have a professional in the family...
Looks pretty cool for a bunch of black pipe.
Today was fill it in day.  Picking up 25 bags of 80 lb quickcrete at home depot = 2,000 lbs.  Then hauling it into the house another 2,000 lbs, and then loading the mixing and pouring - another 2,000 lbs.  I guess a 3 ton day is enough for one guy.  Sue helped by adding water and lowering the mixer for a dump and I was glad to have her with me.  It's pretty tough doing this alone.
We were so lucky...I didn't have a single bag left over...amazing  :o)..  That's shaving it a bit close.  Next is hauling that big pile of rubble away next week and we might just about be ready or getting pretty close anyway...
