Well the nurses were right! It seems like it just happened over night!...or at least in the last week or so. To me it really just feels like a lot of fat and a little bit of baby but I'm tired of sucking it in so there it is!

Brycen gets a BONK!
So...
On Wednesday, Drew called me at work, just before I was ready to come home and said something like this: "This is an emergency! I need you to come home right now because we might need to take Brycen to the emergency room and I need you to hold him!" To which I said, "What!?!" So he proceeded to tell me that Brycen was playing on the couch and fell off, head first into the corner of the coffee table. He split the bridge of his nose and above his eye. So I raced home, (following all traffic laws of course... well, mostly!) and found Brycen on Drew's lap with an icepack on his head. Drew said he was so brave, he hardly cried at all but he was a little pale and just wanted to cuddle with his mama. We decided that he didn't need stitches, but we did use a few butterfly band aids just in case.

All smiles for the camera!

Well, our first big BONK is out of the way - and I'm sure there will be many more to come! :)

Happy New Year!
Hey all!
Just wanted to report that Christmas was Awesome!! We had such a fun time at Mom and Dad's on Thursday eating well, hanging out, playing games and having fun! Then Christmas Eve was also great! All the Rowley's gathered together for a Shepherd's dinner. We sat on the floor in candlelight and ate meats, cheeses, dried fruits, vegetables, breads, pita and hummus and then shared our thoughts of the Savior. Christmas morning the kids had a blast tearing it up and loving their loot. Then we sent them all downstairs to play while the adults got their turn. Lots of FUN!! On Christmas Eve morning, our school PHA had a breakfast for all the teachers and their families. Jett's little class learned a dance for the school Christmas talent show and they performed again at the breakfast. He's so awesome!! (**Video would not upload...maybe another time...)

New Years was the best one that we've had in a while (we usually don't last til midnight)! The Rowley's and Mom and Dad and us gathered at Shane and Clarissa's house and enjoyed a night full of ping pong and pictionary! It was so much fun hanging out, playing games and eating yummy snacks! Jett even stayed up til 1am! So much fun.
Hope all of you had a great Christmas and an awesome New Years! We love you all!!! =)

The 2nd Annual MacKay Family Gingerbread House Contest
So, it all began last year with the 1st Annual MacKay Family Gingerbread House Contest. (Which Mom tells me I forgot to post! oops!) Dawn had us all buy commonly used decorating items like neccos and gumdrops to share, thinking it would just be a cute and friendly little contest. Little did she realize, that telling us there would be a prize, trophy, etc, would spur such competitive creativity! Here's a few pictures from 2009.

Davis and Becca--The house the MacKay kids grew up in.

Jason and Me--The North pole temple--if you zoom in you can see Santa shushing everyone at the door.

Jason and Me-- we melted jollyranchers for windows and a lake, potatoes for hills, our figures were made of salt-water taffy, and the baby was wrapped in swaddling gum. My favorite wise man is the blue one with his hunch-back, sparkly gum cape, and white beard.:)

Sharie and John--the tree was made from rice crispy treats on the inside and graham crackers dipped in frosting on the outside

Shauna--this is a model of Bonanza High School--check out how she did the palm trees with parsley and the volleyball net is spaghetti.

Shannon and Kevin--A castle, complete with lego knights.
Josh and Alayne--A Christmas cabin.
Sharie and John--The Luxor--there's a light in the roof too!
The kids' creation with Auntie Shauna--recieved the prize for "Most Lickable":)

And the winner was....... JOSH AND ALAYNE!

So this year, we made a few new rules. EVERYTHING had to be edible (except for the hot glue everyone used to stick stuff together), there was no "pre-building" allowed, and there was a money limit on what we could spend to decorate.

Davis and Becca-- wanna go camping anyone? Love the details on this tent-trailer. It is completely supported by the wheels and the candycane hitch.
And the winner is...... ME AND JASON!!!! woohoo!!! Good thing they judged our stuff quickly. It was so warm in the room, all of our figures were very "humble" as they melted!
Playing at the Park & Mr. Independent
I love that my boys love to play in the dirt. Braden especially is content forever just moving dirt from one place to another with his little shovel. By the way... I do have to brag a little about Vegas weather! Hahahahahaha!!!!! It's December and GORGEOUS!

Bray is ALWAYS trying to do whatever Jacob is doing. Jakey loves riding his bike at the park. Bray can't quite get on it, but is happy to push it around.

So Braden reaches for my fork and squeals that he wants it, I let him play with it and... wait a minute! This kid is starting to feed himself??? He doesn't do this all the time, utensils are still more toys than tools to him, but he's getting pretty good at it!
Jacobisms
Jacob: I'm sad.
Me: Why are you sad Jacob?
Jacob: I want Nana and Papa and Santa!
Almost daily Jacob asks me if we can go to the cabin with Nana and Papa and go fishing again. He's such a sweetie!
